As mentioned in the above video, it's first important to note that 2016 marked the sixth consecutive year that the number of single-family homes sold in Sussex County increased over the previous year. In fact, between 2011 and 2016, the number of homes sold in southern Delaware per calendar year has increased by 75 percent, including a more modest 3 percent gain between 2015 and 2016.

This indicates a healthy local real estate market that's achieving steady gains and moderate price increases over the short term.

In 2016, more than 4,600 properties changed hands in Southern Delaware, accounting for more than $1.5 billion in sales. And we're proud to say that a large number of these homes were at the beach, with several being facilitated by our team of real estate professionals here at the Oldfather Group.
