This week, we’re highlighting a few of our favorite locally owned restaurants in Rehoboth Beach. This is by no means a complete list or it would be a small book and would take days to read, but these are a few of our favorites.

We’ve also attempted to give you a mix of different types and styles of restaurants in compiling this list. Take a look and let us know what you think.

So, here are a few of the local eateries in Rehoboth Beach that we like to frequent from time to time.

Henlopen City Oyster House. Located on Wilmington Avenue, this is one of the busiest places in Rehoboth Beach during the summer months. Featuring some of the best seafood choices in coastal Delaware, this Rehoboth favorite specializes in – yup, you guessed it, oysters! And not just your average, run-of-the-mill oysters either, but varieties from all up and down the east coast, and even some from Canada. Other items on Henlopen City’s menu include a wide variety of seafood selections, a large wine and cocktail list and fresh fruits and vegetables. Victoria’s. Located within the confines of the Boardwalk Plaza Hotel, on the north end of Rehoboth’s famous Boardwalk, this fine dining restaurant offers an eclectic selection of quality food options, all while overlooking the Atlantic shoreline. The restaurant is situated on three levels, all with a great view of the beach. Open seven days a week from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., some of the specialties on Victoria’s menu include crispy duck breast, grilled short ribs and their locally renowned crab cakes. Blue Moon. Now here is a Rehoboth eatery that’s as well known for its fun and inviting atmosphere as it is for its wide selection of quality food. Situated on Baltimore Avenue, next to the CAMP Rehoboth Community Center, the Blue Moon features an extraordinary dining experience in a restored Victorian home just a short walk from the Rehoboth Beach Boardwalk. With dining options that include Maine lobster soup, crispy red snapper, seared duck breast and bison tartare, as well as an extensive wine list, the Blue Moon’s menu is the envy of the neighborhood. But the restaurant is also known for having a good time, with lots of quality entertainment and a fun-loving clientele. For more information on the Blue Moon, call 302-227-6515 or visit

Dogfish Head Brewpub. Today, Sam Calagione’s Dogfish Head Brewery is known throughout the region as one of the top microbreweries on the east coast of the United States. But it all started at the company’s brewpub on Rehoboth Avenue. Now known for its “original beer, original food and original music,” the Dogfish Head brewpub offers a wide selection of the company’s signature brews, as well as specialty pizzas, seafood entrees and original sandwiches. An approved expansion is also in the works for the very near future. For more information on the Dogfish Head Brewpub, call 302-226-BREW or visit

Nicola Pizza. Founded in 1971 by Nicholas Caggiano, this local pizza parlor bills itself as being a “family place, family managed and with family prices.” Nicola is known for having some of the best pizza in the resort, using only the finest ingredients and offering a quality product at a reasonable price. But it is most well known for its Nic-o-Boli, a sort of pizza twist that has become synonymous for the company since its creation more than 40 years ago. For more information on Nicola Pizza, call 302-227-6211 or visit

The Cultured Pearl. Located on Rehoboth Avenue, a few blocks from the Boardwalk, the Cultured Pearl prides itself on offering some of the best sushi in the region. Founded in 1993, “The Pearl” not only prides itself on its quality food inspired by the finest chefs in Japan, but has also created a Japanese inspired atmosphere in Rehoboth Beach. At the Cultured Pearl, you will find plenty of bamboo, flowing water, a 15,000 gallon Koi pond on the rooftop deck and live birds. There are literally dozens more that could realistically be on this list, but you get the idea. We have a multitude of wonderful restaurants to choose from here in the “Nation’s Summer Capital.”

This weekend, why not head out and sample a couple of them? You won’t be disappointed!

And be sure to check back here in our “Weekender Blog” next week when we highlight some of the quality local theater options available in and near coastal Delaware.

Have a great weekend everyone.
