Good day everyone and welcome once again to the "Weekender Blog," brought to you every week between March and December by the real estate professionals at the Oldfather Group of Ocean Atlantic Sotheby's International Realty.

This is the second installment of 2018 for the popular weekly segment, and today we shine the spotlight on two annual events taking place in Maryland's favorite summertime resort of Ocean City.

But while the Home, Garden & Condo Show and the Saint Patrick's Day Parade and Festival take center stage over the weekend of March 16-18, there are also some happenings in coastal Delaware you may want to put on the family calendar for the next few days.

But before we give you all the nuts and bolts info on these great yearly events, here's Oldfather Group Chief Buyer Consultant Adam Linder with a video preview of what's on tap for this third weekend of March.

REMINDER: be sure to check out the interactive map at the end of this blog entry to learn more about this weekend's featured events.

The parade route runs from 60th Street to 44th Street and will feature marching units, floats, local celebrities and more. There's a $50 fee to join the parade, and all entries should be decorated with an Irish theme.

The event celebrates annually the sister relationship between the State of Delaware and Japan's Miyagi Prefecture, and in 2018 benefits the Cape Henlopen High School, Dover High School and Miyagi student exchange programs.

Events are planned for for all four days, with the main event occurring between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 17. This will be an indoor Japanese Street Fair at the Cultured Pearl and admission is free and open to the public.
