It's hard to believe that the traditional Memorial Day to Labor Day summer season is more than half over already. We hope everyone is making the most of what is definitely one of the best times of the year to live in Delaware and Maryland's coastal region.

There's so much going on in the area, including some great shows and outdoor concerts. If you missed our writeup on these outdoor entertainment options a couple of weeks ago, you can check it out by clicking on the image below.

There's some great acts coming to several different venues over the course of the next few weeks, and most of these concerts are free of charge to attendees. So take a look and see if there's something that whets your appetite.

Okay, let's move on to what's happening over the weekend of July 20-22 here in the coastal region. Here's our very own Adam Linder to kick things off with a video preview of the next few days...

Note: The video below was filmed at one of our premier residential listings, in the fabulous Grande at Canal Pointe community. Click here to learn more about 41341 Gloucester Drive in Rehoboth Beach.

We've got some fun and exciting things coming up this weekend at the beaches. Here are our top choices for things to do between July 20 and 22 in the coastal region:

Seafood & Arts Festival (July 21). This annual festival is held at the Indian River Marina and spotlights local artists, as well as a variety of seafood dishes, in a family atmosphere.

This should be a fun day for everyone, so be sure to come hungry and ready to take in some great local art.

The 2018 Seafood & Arts Festival is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. this Saturday, July 21, at the Indian River Marina. Call 302-227-6991 for more information.

43rd Annual Craft Fair at Angola By The Bay (July 21). Craft vendors from throughout Delmarva will be selling their wares at this long-time local craft fair, scheduled for Saturday, July 21, at Angola by the Bay in Lewes.

Arts and crafts, plants and produce will all be for sale, and light refreshments will be available.

Admission is free and the craft fair is scheduled to run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Call 302-549-4877 for more information on this 43rd annual coastal event.

Dewey Claus Crawl (July 21). This is billed as Dewey Beach's "biggest party of the summer" and features a city-wide event with stops at five parties located at four of the resort's most well-known bars.

Scheduled events for this summertime party include Ralphie's Revenge at Jimmy's Grille, a Surfin' Santa Deck Party at the Rusty Rudder, Jingle Jam at the Bottle & Cork and both a Naughty-n-Nice Pool Party and a White Out Snow Rave at North Beach.

Jimmy's Grille is also featuring an open-air roller skating rink that will be open for the entire three-day weekend.

Breeches Buoy Rescue Drill Reenactment (July 21). If you’ve never seen the Coast Guardsmen at the Indian River Life-saving Station reenact the breeches buoy rescue system, you owe it to yourself to check it out this Saturday from 1 to 2:30 p.m.

This is the system members of the life-saving service used back in the 19th century to rescue shipwreck victims from shore, and it is incredibly entertaining to see.

There is a nominal fee for this event – $6.50 for adults, $5 for seniors and $4 for children ages 6 to 12 – but it’s well worth the cost of admission to see this incredible demonstration of the life-saving service.

Call the Indian River Life-saving Station at 302-227-2800 for more information.

Rocky Horror Show (July 21). Based on one of America's all-time favorite cult classic films, this unique and original musical performance is scheduled for this Saturday evening, July 11, at Clear Space Theater in Rehoboth Beach. Show time is 7:30 p.m.

Theater administration encourages attendees to wear costumes from the film, and props will be provided for a truly interactive experience.

And something for your upcoming calendar - there will also be a special midnight performance of the show on Saturday, August 11.

Visit for more information on this event, as well as many other shows planned for the rest of 2018.

Movie Night on the Beach (July 23). Held every Monday night during the season, these family friendly movies are fun for everyone. Bring your family, a blanket, and some popcorn to the beach for family movie night! Movies will start at approximately 8:30 p.m. on the beach at Dagsworthy Street in Dewey Beach and Garfield Parkway in Bethany Beach. This week's selections are "Finding Nemo" (Dewey Beach) and “Leap" (Bethany Beach).

Whatever you choose to do this weekend, we hope you have a fun and exciting few days here at the Delaware and Maryland beaches.

And be sure to check back here next week in our “Weekender Blog” for more great happenings in and near the coastal region.

Have a great weekend everyone!
